HOW:
Please rinse all food & beverage containers and here’s the reason why. Anything that contains food or beverage waste will contaminate the recyclable waste stream and will negatively impact the prices brought on the open market. Since Recycle Eureka is funded solely by monetary & material donations, we must be able to maximize the sale of the recycled materials to help sustain the local recycling program.
Aluminum Cans – Rinsed & crushed.
Cardboard – Broken down flat (sorry no pizza boxes). Examples listed above may be commingled.
Paper - All paper may be commingled. Shredded paper must be in separate plastic bags and tied shut.
Plastics – Rinsed, crushed without lids. #1 and #2 should be separated. Labels may be left on.
