April 18, 2009 Recycling Drive Held in Conjunction with Spruce Up Efforts
It was a beautiful day for recycling in Eureka, Montana. Makes one wonder if Mother Nature wasn’t smiling on God’s Country just before Earth Day. Folks came out in droves for the Quarterly Recycling Drive, bringing truckloads of recyclables they had saved up since January. Volunteers never had a chance to catch their breath at this event. Working in tandem with Spruce Up efforts, Recycle Eureka accepted aluminum cans and plastic bottles from the sister volunteer activities next door at Glacier Bank.

Recycle Eureka Helps with Spruce Up Efforts for the Second Year
New Recycle Eureka board member, Tammy Parke, heads up recycling efforts at this year’s Spruce Up, held at Glacier Bank. Educating youngsters and oldsters alike, volunteers collected aluminum cans and plastic bottles while picking up trash around town in preparation for Rendezvous weekend. Volunteers were given white bags clearly marked for either aluminum or plastic to help with proper sorting. Due to careful thought and planning, recycling was a breeze this year as volunteers simply walked next-door to deposit their sorted materials at the drive.
